Wim De Waele
Wim De Waele obtained his master degrees in Economic Sciences and Computer Sciences at the University of Ghent in 1987. He started his career as scientific researcher at the university in the area of artificial intelligence in industrial applications. Wim De Waele was Chief Executive Officer of IBBT, later renamed iMinds (www.iminds.be), headquartered in Ghent, Belgium, until 2015. iMinds is the leading interdisciplinary research and venturing organization in the country, working with companies and other partners on the newest technologies in domains such as networking, media, security and healthcare. It had a strong focus on the development of new start-up companies and the business acceleration of promising technology concepts. Wim De Waele resigned as CEO of iMinds in 2016 to co-found B-Hive with Jurgen Ingels.
