Mustafa Serkan Omerbeyoglu
Serkan holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and later enrolled in San Diego State University to complete his MBA. After working 4 years as an investment banker in USA, he returned to Turkey to pursue new endeavors in financial technologies. He has more than 20 years of extensive experience in the field of financial technologies. In 2002, Serkan became part of the founding team of Provus, the first payment processing company in Turkey, back when financial technologies as a field was still in its infancy. Provus provided secure and modern payment solutions for credit card, ATM and POS transactions. Provus was later acquired by Mastercard, which was one of the biggest deals made in the Turkish fintech ecosystem. After his exit from Provus, he co-founded Ininal in 2012, one of the most widely used pre-paid cards in Turkey. He also managed the process of Up Group’s acquisition of İninal, which made İninal a part of the European fintech ecosystem. Serkan is an active Business Angel Investor and invests in early stage start-ups. He is a co-founder and board member of Next Venture, which is a venture capital firm, aiming to help startups with financial support and network. The firm invests in firms operating in FinTech, Quantum Computing, FoodTech, BioTech, InsureTech, Media, AdTech, E-Commerce and Blockchain. In addition to all these, Serkan Ömerbeyoğlu has been among the entrepreneurs of the Endeavor Association that encourages the world's leading entrepreneurs to dream bigger. After years to transform and digitalize the banking, transportation and payment industries; eventually, he has founded Dgpays in 2017 to realize his vision. In March 2021, Dgpays has reached agreement to receive an investment from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The investment by EBRD represents one of the most significant foreign investments in Turkey’s fintech sector to date. In November 2021, Dgpays acquired ZUBİZU, Turkey’s leading customer loyalty platform with +500 merchants and +4 mio registered customers, under Dgpays umbrealla with the vision of creating a fintech loyalty superapp touching lives of the end users. As a part of this acquisition, Doğuş Holding, one of the largest holding groups in Turkey, became another partner of Dgpays. Ömerbeyoğlu is married and has two children.
