Sten Saar co-founded Zego in 2016 after he spotted a gap in the insurance market while working at Deliveroo. The cost and rigidity of annual insurance was acting as a barrier to entry for gig economy workers so together they launched flexible pay-as-you-go policies for this workforce. As CEO, Sten has led Zego to become the UK’s biggest insurtech firm and the go-to insurance brand for fleet businesses and micro- mobility providers, thanks to its flexible, data-driven approach. Prior to Zego, Sten established himself as a talented entrepreneur, founding a notepad business in his native Estonia aged just 17 and growing it into an international brand before selling it in 2013. After moving to the UK, Sten worked in the operations team for private rental home platform, Onefinestay, later working as Director of Operations at Deliveroo.
